Poland: Retail sales growth accelerates in December

January 22, 2016

In December, retail sales rose 4.9% over the same month last year, which was above November’s 3.3% increase and marked the strongest increase since April 2014. The reading overshot the 3.5% rise that markets had expected. As a consequence, annual average growth in retail sales inched up from November’s 1.1% to 1.3% in December, which marked a nine-month high.

Met the why particular Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption growing 3.3% in 2016, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel also sees private consumption expanding 3.3%.
