Peru: Consumer confidence rises to a nearly one-year high

In December, the consumer confidence indicator published by GfK increased from the 89 points tallied in November to 98 points, which marked the best result in almost one year. The index now lies just below the 110-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic territory.
According to the survey report, consumers’ outlook regarding their own situation as well as that of the country in the next 12 months improved in December. Consumers were also more optimistic about employment and savings prospects. In addition, consumer confidence was up notably in Lima.
