Colombia: GDP growth accelerates slightly in Q3

In Q3, GDP grew 3.2% over the same quarter of the previous year, which came in slightly above the 3.0% increase registered in Q2. The reading was in line with market expectations and marked the highest reading in three quarters. In seasonally-adjusted terms, the economy expanded 1.2% over the previous quarter, which was a stronger expansion than Q2’s 0.5% and marked the strongest increase since Q1 2014. More detailed GDP data will be released on 22 December.Panelists participating in the LatinFocus Consensus Forecast project that GDP will expand 3.2% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month’s estimate. In 2016, panelists expect GDP to grow 3.3%.
