Austria: Consumer confidence falls to lowest level in over six years
November 27, 2015
The consumer confidence index elaborated by Fessel-GfK inched down from October’s minus 15 points to minus 16 points in November, marking the weakest reading since May 2009. As a result, the index remains entrenched below the 0-point threshold, which indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists.
November’s result partly reflected consumers’ more pessimistic assessments regarding the general economic situation and their own financial situations. Moreover, consumers were more negative about unemployment and saving money.
