Steel (USA) Price OutlookPrices for Hot-Rolled Coil U.S. Steel increased in the last few weeks, but at a much slower pace than in the preceding months. While U.S. tariffs on steel imposed in March continued supporting prices, the postponement of tariffs on European steel acted in the opposite direction. Steel traded at USD 878 per metric ton on 11 May, which was 1.9% higher than on the same day in April and was up 39.6% on a year-to-date basis. The price was 43.9% higher than on the same day last year.
