Steel (USA) Price Outlook

Prices for hot-rolled coil U.S. steel rose in recent weeks amid cuts in production of the metal in China and despite weakening industrial activity in the Asian giant. Steel traded at USD 705 per metric ton on 8 March, which was 2.9% higher than on the same day in February. However, the price was down 2.2% on a year-to-date basis and was 14.0% lower than on the same day in 2018.
