Cotton Price OutlookCotton prices tumbled sharply in September on news that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma had not meaningfully disrupted cotton production in the southern United States after prices initially rallied ahead of the major weather events. The spot price on 6 October was USD 66.9 cents per pound, which was 9.0% lower than on the same day of last month and was down 3.4% on a year-to-date basis. That said, the price was 0.2% higher than on the same day last year.
