Coffee Price Outlook

Arabica prices edged marginally higher in early December; they have broadly stabilized since the outset of Q4 on slower exports from Brazil. Exports have fallen as producers wait for higher selling prices, lifting prices after robust 2016/17 crops had sent prices lower for most of this year. Arabica coffee traded at USD 125 cents per pound on 1 December, which was 2.4% higher than on the same day last month. That said, the price was down 7.0% on a year-to-date basis and was 11.2% lower than on the same day last year.
