Unemployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina Unemployment | Economic News & Forecasts

Bosnia and Herzegovina - Unemployment

Recently-released data for the fourth quarter paints a mixed picture. On the one hand, export growth stalled in December, likely due to Kosovo’s 110% import tariffs, while industrial production fell in the same month. On the other hand, private consumption should have been upbeat in Q4 as reflected by solid retail sales. In other news, a political deadlock since October’s elections has stalled the government’s formation. The Bosnian and Croat tripartite presidents have refused to approve Dodik’s prime minister choice until he pledges support for NATO accession. Meanwhile, SDA, the Bosnian Muslim party, is claiming that the name of the region Republika Srpska is unconstitutional, which has further inflamed tensions.
