Economic growth was likely solid in Q4. Annual merchandise export growth was brisk in the period, while private credit posted healthy expansions in October and November, which likely supported household consumption and fixed investment. In contrast, the government’s fiscal consolidation should have constrained public consumption. In January, the IMF concluded a staff visit.
