Steel (USA) Price OutlookPrices for hot-rolled coil U.S. steel continued to decline in recent weeks, due to heightened worries over slowing demand growth in China. Steel traded at USD 726 per metric ton on 11 January, which was down 4.5% from the same day in December. However, the price was 0.7% higher on a year-to-date basis and was up 8.2% from the same day in 2018.
