Steel (Europe) Price OutlookEuropean steel prices remained broadly stable over the past month against the background of mounting fears of cooling demand growth in China, the world’s largest consumer. Hot-rolled coil European steel traded at USD 577 per metric ton on 11 January. The price was 0.5% higher than on the same day in December and was up 0.3% on a year-to-date basis. However, it was 11.5% lower than on the same day last year.
