Sugar Price OutlookSugar prices maintained a steady downward path in April and early May as expectations of record-high world output in the 2017–2018 season were compounded by a strong start to the harvest season in Brazil. Sugar traded at USD 11.9 cents per pound on 11 May. The price was 2.4% lower than on the same day last month and was down 21.0% on a year-to-date basis. Moreover, the price was 25.9% lower than on the same day last year.
